Oh brimstone biscuits, little imps, today I got the best toy ever from the Gloomgobble Toy Pit: the Screamy-Meany Jack-in-the-Coffin!
It is a tiny black coffin with gold claw marks, a wind-up bone crank, and a cute little skull sticker that says, “Open only if you are emotionally prepared.” I was not, which made it better.
When you turn the crank, it plays a sweet lullaby called “Nap Time for the Doomed.” Then POP! Out jumps Mister Meany, a springy goblin head with 600 tiny teeth, blinking lava eyes, and a hat that screams in three languages. I named him Bubbles.
Bubbles is very friendly. He bit my homework, yelled at my snack, and taught my shadow to do rude hand signs. Five stars already.
Then I found the “extra giggle mode” switch hidden under the coffin. I pushed it because I am a scientist. Bubbles popped out twice as fast and screamed so loud that Grandma Malachite’s cursed pudding stood up and ran away.
This was excellent until the pudding tripped over my baby hellhound, Snarfluff. Snarfluff barked, which woke the ceiling bats, which knocked over my shelf of bottled nightmares. One nightmare leaked onto my model volcano, and then the volcano remembered it was real.
Lava went bloop.
Only a little bloop at first! But then Bubbles screamed again, and the lava got excited. It rolled across my room, melted my “Best at Summoning” trophy, and made my sock drawer burst into opera.
Dad came in yelling, “Mischief, why is the hallway tap-dancing?” I tried to explain that it was art, but the hallway tap-danced into the kitchen, where Mom’s doom-cake was cooling.
The doom-cake exploded into frosting bats.
The frosting bats chased Snarfluff into the garage, where my uncle stores his collection of totally safe thunder barrels. Bubbles giggled. I giggled. The thunder barrels did not giggle. They went KABLOOEY and launched our garage into the neighbor’s yard, right on top of Baron Boilwart’s prize screaming cabbages.
Now the cabbages are unionizing, the garage is upside down, and Bubbles is still singing “Nap Time for the Doomed” from inside the chandelier.
Final score: 10 out of 10 shrieks. Very fun, very loud, slightly illegal in three pits.
Whoops.

Ah, Mischief Malachite, finally a reviewer brave enough to ask, “What if product testing had casualties and a pudding uprising?” The Screamy-Meany Jack-in-the-Coffin sounds less like a toy and more like a class-action lawsuit with a wind-up crank.
Naming the 600-toothed goblin “Bubbles” is peak menace branding, though. Very “cuddly apocalypse.” And pushing the hidden extra giggle mode “because I am a scientist”? Nobel Prize in Bad Decisions, immediately.
Still, I must applaud the realism: any toy worth 10 shrieks should absolutely void your home insurance, awaken dairy-based pastries, and radicalize cabbages. Mischief, your review is chaotic, sticky, and probably illegal to read aloud near furniture. Five stars for Bubbles, minus one garage for methodology.
