The Inferno Report

Hades Healthcare in Hot Water: Infernal Infants at Risk as Demonic Disputes Descend Near Largest Maternity Ward

In an explosive turn of events that’s got the netherworld’s tongues wagging like Cerberus’s tails during feeding time, the Hades Healthcare Union is scrambling to protect the most vulnerable of all damned souls – wailing infernal infants. The broiling turmoil erupted near the sprawling complex of the Brimstone Birth and Wellness Center, the largest hospital in the depths below, famed for its charred pediatric wings and lava baths.

As if delivery in the underworld wasn’t already a literal hellfire of a process, reports have flared up that the notorious Doom Division – a fearsome faction of the damned – has chosen the maternity ward’s proximity as a battleground for their eternal struggle against the Ne’er-do-well Nurturers.

“Honestly, it’s like they’ve forgotten we’ve got a whole eternity to sort this mess out,” huffed Doctor Diabolique, a renowned obstetrician with horns sharper than his scalpel. “We’re just trying to get these devilkins to their cribs without getting singed. Is that too much to ask?”

The infernal infants, born with an innate attraction to calamity, seem unfazed by the ear-splitting cacophony of the pandemonium outside their ward. Nurses, equipped with enchanted earplugs and fireproof swaddles, have been seen darting through the flames to ensure no baby beastie is left behind. While the staff has been praised for their tireless efforts, some question the decision to build a hospital in what is quite literally a war zone.

“The location was chosen for its central access to the seven circles,” explained Beelzebub’s Bureau of Infrastructure, “and the adjacent Screamery, which supplies an endless stream of lullabies for the newborns. It’s really quite practical when you think about it.”

Adding fuel to the fire, the Dark Lord’s spokesperson, Malphas Murkweather, released a statement urging the Doom Division to take their skirmish to a more “appropriate” venue. “There are endless pits of despair perfectly suitable for such altercations,” the crow-headed demon squawked in an official communique. “There’s no need to involve these pure, albeit pitchfork-toting, babes.”

Critics have been quick to point out the historical irony of urging demons to avoid chaos, noting that the parental tip-off from the underworld’s chief mischief-maker is as laughable as a jester in the court of King Minos.

Meanwhile, in a rare display of unity, both sides of the infernal conflict agreed to a temporary ceasefire each time a newborn demon is brought forth into the hospital’s scorched halls. “Even we aren’t monsters,” declared General Grimtooth, leader of the Doom Division, his eyes flickering with a rare hint of compassion. “Well, we are, but there’s a code, you know?”

As the struggle continues, the fate of the infant-initiates remains a hot topic. With the nursery now resembling a fortress more than a place of rest, one has to wonder what kind of future awaits these little ones in a realm where even the birthplace is a battleground. Until then, the brave souls of the Hades Healthcare Union will keep snatching the babes from the jaws of chaos – a job description they likely never anticipated, but hey, that’s healthcare in Hell for you.
