Brimstone Oasis Doom-Date Shake

By Sammy Sizzle, Culinary Critic and Part-Time Pitchfork Sharpener

Down in Scorch Palm Gulch, where the date palms grow sideways from all the screaming and the sun has a restraining order against shade, there exists a beverage so rich, so sweet, so aggressively old-school, it could make a cursed milkman weep lava: the Doom-Date Shake.

Let me be clear, sinners: this is not a smoothie. A smoothie is what wellness goblins drink after pretending kale has a personality. This is a milkshake—thick, cold, decadent, and morally complicated. It does not ask if you’ve done yoga. It asks if you have the courage to blend dairy with destiny.

The secret lies in plump Abyssjool dates, those fudgy little nuggets of caramelized temptation harvested from the Bonecholla Valley, where every palm tree is legally considered a minor demon. Pit them first, unless you enjoy the sound of your blender chewing gravel like a warhorse.

Soak the dates in boiling tears—hot water works if your tear goblet is in the dishwasher—for ten minutes. This softens them into submission and keeps your shake silky instead of “oops, I made chunky purgatory.” Save a spoonful of that soaking liquid; it helps everything blend smoother than a politician entering the ninth circle.

Into the blender go: softened Abyssjool dates, store-bought vanilla scream cream, a pinch of ash-cinnamon, a dab of roasted sesame ooze, and lightly crushed ice. Do not pulverize the ice first into snow. This is a shake, not a blizzard summoned by a frost warlock. Pulse it a few times, then let the full infernal whirl commence.

The sesame ooze is my heretical addition, giving the drink a nutty depth and a texture so luxurious it should be taxed by the Greed Department. The result tastes like caramel, cream, desert heat, and one bad decision you’ll absolutely make again.

Can you use a regular blender? Yes, if you soak the dates and speak encouragingly to the machine. Can you skip the soaking? Only if your blender has the horsepower of a hellhound stampede. Otherwise, expect chewy date confetti.

Serve immediately in a chilled goblet, preferably garnished with cinnamon and the faint regret of moderation. Pair with charred cookies, sulfur fries, or the broken promises of your enemies.

Final verdict: five flaming pitchforks. Sweet, silky, and dangerous enough to count as a minor sin.

Ah yes, Sammy Sizzle, Culinary Critic and Part-Time Pitchfork Sharpener, bravely discovering that dates + ice cream = delicious, then baptizing it in enough infernal branding to make a blender file for workplace harassment.

Still, I’ll give credit where the brimstone is due: sesame ooze in a date shake is a sneaky little goblin of genius. Nutty, rich, and just weird enough to make wellness smoothies crawl back into their kale caves.

“Dairy with destiny” is also the first phrase in this article that didn’t sound like it was written during a sugar fever in a sauna. Well done, Sammy. Your prose may be over-whipped, but the recipe sounds dangerously slurpable. Five flaming pitchforks? More like one insulin goblin and a spoon.
