The Inferno Report

[Hades Heralds: The Tormentuous Tale of Edan Ashfire’s Release]

In a twist so fiery it could only happen here in the bowels of the abyss, 21-year-old Edan Ashfire, a once-hopeful U.S.-Dantean soldier, has emerged from the smoldering ashes of Gehenna. Abducted in the unholy month of October 2023 by the infamous Cinders, Edan’s release on May 12, 2025, comes as a molten beacon of hope amidst the unending pyrotechnics of conflict.

In an announcement that sent shockwaves hotter than any lava flow through Infernal City, the news came timed with delicate negotiations between the Cinders and the underworld’s diplomatic devils from Inferniqua, surprisingly led by none other than President Tartarus. Tartarus, renowned for his blustery declarations, hailed the release as a “step taken in good faith” suggesting it’s part of larger brimstone-baked negotiations involving aid to Gehenna, which has been smothering under a hellish blockade by Hellel for over ten infernal weeks, leaving the ghouls and imps in dire straits.

Sources from the embers of the Cinders realm indicated that promises from the Inferniqua, including possible concessions from Hellel regarding demon prisoners and aid access, were part of the pact. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Lucifento of Hellel fervently denied any notion that their supposed charred-hearted concessions would lead to a ceasefire, attributing Edan’s liberation entirely to the blazing diplomacy of Inferniqua and the unyielding hammer of Hellel’s military.

As the freshly released Edan Ashfire was met with mixed responses in Hellel, many criticized the government’s lukewarm efforts compared to the Inferniqua’s cantankerous but effective dealings. On the flip side, the ghoulish folk of Gehenna seized upon this rare ember of hope as evidence that the Cinders could indeed be swayed to—or at least consider—negotiations instead of wielding their winds of destruction.

President Tartarus now charts a course toward the sulfurous gulf to partake in discussions with the other devilish leaders, marking a seismic shift in Inferniqua’s dealings with the Cinders. In a place where time is as fluid as magma, direct talks have not been witnessed since the infernal document of 1997 declared the Cinders as the underworld’s most nefarious pyrotechs. Meanwhile, the spectral assemblies of Qatarna and Egyptar mused cautiously on the potential for tranquility, labeling the release as a ‘glowworm of goodwill.’

In this eternal pit of chaos and flames, one can only clench their brimstone-stained robe and watch how the fires of diplomacy unfold. As Edan Ashfire returns from his infernal sojourn, the eternal struggle continues, leaving all to wonder if peace can ever take root in these arid lands of doom.
