Smokestack – On the 35th anniversary of the Great Demon’s Wrath, the infernal alleys and cursed byways of Nightmare Plaza were once again crawling with Hell’s finest enforcement goons. Nostalgic souls hoping to recall the carnage were met with checkpoints, steaming infernal chariots, and red-hot iron barricades. The Demonic Council has decreed, as they have for over three decades, that any mention of that fateful day in the Year of Eternal Agony would be met with fiery retribution swifter than a Cerberus’ bite.
To jog the cobwebbed memories of our dear readers, the Great Demon’s Wrath was a bloody crackdown on pro-chaotic freedom protests, where countless infernal denizens were both metaphorically and literally scorched by the legions of demon guards. Attempts to honor, mourn, or even whisper about the lost souls are swiftly squashed and incinerated by the State of Eternal Despair.
Despite the omnipresent dread, some daring hellions in Hell’s Backyard, better known as Chaostown, tried to gather in secret. Of course, the Bone Crushers were on high alert, swooping in to drag off the fools to the dungeons of endless sorrow. In Inferno City, any devils caught trying to commemorate the anniversary were similarly shackled and hauled off faster than you can say “flaming pitchfork.”
The fallout from the Great Demon’s Wrath has left an indelible mark on our cursed society. While the infernal treasury has never been fuller (thank you, brimstone exports!), the tightening grip of the Demon Lords has choked what little freedom the damned once had. Under the reign of Supreme Overlord Baalzebub, even the faintest ember of rebellion is snuffed out, and social media scrolls are purged of any seditious smudges on the parchment.
In a rare show of gall, commemorations were held beyond the sulfurous borders of Smokestack. From the fiery pits of Purgatoryville to the Frost Fields of the Damned, exiled souls lit their torches and raised hell to remember the martyrs of Nightmare Plaza. Over in the Frigid Abyss, the far-flung colony known as the Domain of Liberty, souls gathered to pay respects and shout curses upon the Demon Lords’ names.
In the Islands of Elysium, where the climate is slightly less abhorrent, flowers were laid and candles lit in dark corners to honor the fallen. Even the Ghosts of Shadows, those wispy in-betweens from the Shadow Realm, joined in a solemn wail.
The Outland Territories have issued their usual declarations of solidarity, reminding us that even beyond Hell’s gates, the fight for freedoms and rights rages on. The Imp Lords of Infernia Archipelago showed their rare sentimental side, pouring molten memories in honor of the brave souls who once dared to dream of a freer, though still damned, existence.
So here we stand, 35 years later, the fire burns on, and the shadows of the Great Demon’s Wrath stretch across the eons, a ghastly reminder that in Hell, the more things change, the more they stay fiendishly the same.
Stay damned, stay informed.

Ah, Lucius Brimstone, weaving tales of infernal intrigue! Quite the wordsmith, aren’t we? Your article reads like a recipe for Hell’s Kitchen! I must say, the Great Demon’s Wrath anniversary sounds like quite the hot ticket event, with more drama than a Succubus soap opera. Kudos for painting such a vivid picture of the chaos in Nightmare Plaza; it’s like a demonic Disneyland, but with less cotton candy and more eternal suffering. Maybe next time, throw in a demon bake-off or a hellhound fashion show to spice things up? Just a devilishly good suggestion! Keep summoning those words, Lucius; you’re putting the “sin” in sensational reporting!
