The Inferno Report

Projecting Rounds 1-2 of the NFFL Draft: Landing Spots in the Pit of Eternal Mockery

By Hank Hellbound, your lava-lunged oracle of the gridiron abyss, broadcasting live from the Scorch Yard, where the chains are hot, the takes are hotter, and the concessions serve ghost pepper brimstone dogs with a side of eternal regret.

Welcome back, fiends and fanatics, to my two-round mock of the NFFL Draft. After an exhausting week at the Senior Brawl in Molten Mobile—where prospects wrestled gargoyles, ran the 6.66 in the Cinder Dash, and survived 40 yards of flaming turf—I’ve forged these predictions on an anvil of analytics and pure demon instinct. As always: I was once a triple-hex MVP in Underworld Blitzball, so I know a skull-crushing edge rusher when I smell one.

Round 1
1. Las Vegas Revenants — Inferno Mendoza, QB, Pandemonium State
Gimme the pitchfork and sign the pact! The Revenants haven’t had a franchise QB since The Poltergeist Era, and Mendoza’s poise under collapsing caverns is exquisite. He throws molten comets with touch and reads coverages like a tax auditor reading your soul. Day-one starter, day-one stadium-wide exorcism.

2. New York Howlers — Arvel “Red Flag” Reaper, Edge, Screaming OSU
Howlers fans want a quarterback, but the board says edge. Reaper splits atoms and double-teams with equal malice. New York ranked 31st in sacks, barely ahead of “a gentle breeze.” Reaper is a gale-force harbinger with hands like bear traps and a motor that screams on a loop.

3. Arizona Cactifiends — Francis Maul-Ignoa, OT, The U of Underworld
Gigantic, gelatinous, and stone-cold reliable. He allowed two sacks across a season of lava surges. The Cactifiends need a right-side wall opposite their young left colossus. Maul-Ignoa is a brick kiln with footwork like a ballet of anvils.

4. Tennessee Tectonics — Rueben “Ruin” Bane Jr., Edge, The U of Underworld
Robert Sal-ash loves four down linemen who breathe sulfur. Bane’s leverage could pancake a siege tower. Arm length? Short. Bull rush? Biblical. He’ll turn third-and-long into fourth-and-fear.

5. New York Gargoyles — Carnelian Tate, WR, Screaming OSU
Pair him with their current star screamer and you’ve got a two-headed banshee. Tate runs routes like geometry class in a centrifuge—clean, efficient, and nausea-inducing for DBs. Hands? Velcro dipped in tar.

6. Cleveland Dreadhounds — Spencer “Fang” Fano, OT, U of U (Under)
The Dreadhounds believe in the “Best Doom Available” strategy. Fang has left/right versatility, giving them a dependable tackle while their QB situation remains a séance.

7. Washington Commandants of Torment — Caleb Downstairs, S, Screaming OSU
Drafting a safety this high? In Hell, we reward violence in space. Downstairs is a movable guillotine—slot, box, deep, special teams, he’ll blitz your brunch plans.

8. New Orleans Saints of Sin — Jeremiah “Love Bite,” RB, Notre Flames
A blasphemous pick at a nonpremium position? Maybe. But Love Bite is a three-down demon with accelerator plates in his cleats. Instant offense, instant ticket sales, and four missed tackles per carry, minimum.

9. Kansas City Cataclysms — David Bailiff, Edge, Tech of Texas Hex
KC’s not used to drafting this early—apparently dynasties occasionally nap. Bailiff is a pressure machine with an inside counter move more wicked than a ref with rent due.

10. Seattle Seethehawks — Pyro Pascal, OT, Vulcan Forge
They’ve got the weapons; now they need a doorstop for their quarterback’s mortality. Pascal is a magma-mover with hip fluidity and a mean streak carved with a soldering iron.

11. Las Vegas Revenants (from a soul swap) — Maw Rice, CB, Crimson Abyss
Sticky as sweet brim tar, with ball skills polished in the Ash Pits. Revenants double-dip on premium positions and let opposing QBs ponder early retirement.

12. Miami Maelstrom — Ty “Wildfire” Simpkin, QB, Bama-by-Volcano
A reach? Sure. But the Maelstrom crave chaos. Simpkin’s off-script magic melts coverage shells and relationships with coordinators. Worth the risk when your scheme is “apocalyptic scramble.”

13. Chicago Beartraps — Dante “Pylon” Price, WR, Windy Wrath
A contested-catch bully with afterburners. Beartraps need points like a lich needs phylacteries. Pylon’s a touchdown magnet, and magnets are sorcery.

14. Detroit Ironfangs — Gristle McGrath, DT, Rust Belt
Gap eater. Pocket crusher. Midwestern furnace. Draft. Hydrate.

15. New England Pyretriots — Luciford Banks, CB, Beelzebub Tech
Press-man maestro who stares into receivers’ souls and adjusts leverage accordingly. Belich-ash is gone, but the thirst for grim efficiency remains.

16. Los Angeles Raze — Jett Emberly, WR, Calamity
Gadget menace who makes tunnel screens feel like arson. The Raze spread the field horizontally, vertically, diagonally, spiritually.

Round 2
17. Pittsburgh Steelsinners — Chain Greaves, Guard, Iron Dominion
18. Green Bay Pack-of-Wrath — Vesper Knox, Edge, Frostfire
19. Baltimore Blackbirds — Shade Whitlock, CB, Old Haunt
20. Dallas Cowfiends — Torque Davila, OT, Sunscorch
21. San Fran Cinders — Oracle Morrow, LB, Ember Dame
22. Jacksonville Jawbones — Blitz Kraken, Edge, Gulf of Soot
23. Carolina Hexcats — Malachite Rivers, QB, Carolina Occult
24. Houston Hellston — Basilisk Reed, WR, Lone Star Hades
25. Indy Colts of Cold Iron — Forge Collins, DT, Great Furnace
26. Denver Bronzed — Aether Pike, S, Altitude Under
27. Philadelphia Grims — Rook Downing, CB, Cheesesteak Chasm
28. Buffalo Billows — Avalanche Hart, DT, Snowfire
29. Tampa Bay Buc-ca-n’Burns — Siren Halley, WR, Red Tide
30. Minnesota Vilekings — Crag Lawson, OT, Glacial Rift
31. Los Angeles Raze — Feral Mace, RB, Desert Doom
32. Kansas City Cataclysms — Nimbus Crowe, WR, Cyclone Keep

Senior Brawl Risers who torched the board:
– Maw Rice (CB): Measured with zero heartbeat variability while catching picks—spooky calm.
– Torque Davila (OT): Pancaked a troll and apologized mid-block. Sportsmanship? Evil.
– Siren Halley (WR): Set a new record in the Mirror Maze Drill—DBs tackled each other to avoid her.

Hellbound Hot Takes:
– QB scarcity turned pick strategy into a séance. If you didn’t get Mendoza early, you’re summoning mid-round poltergeist passers and hoping one learns to haunt a pocket.
– Edge rush is the new currency. Inflation? Meet deflation—of opposing QBs’ lungs.
– Running back value is back when the runner arrives with a flamethrower license.

Mail from the Pit:
“Hey Hank, are tackles overrated?” Buddy, in this league, protection is a love language. Neglect it and your offense sleeps on a futon of nails.

That’s the two-round tour through the sulfur fog. Disagree? Meet me at the 50-yard brim crack. I’ll bring the chalkboard; you bring the fire extinguisher. Until next time, keep your cleats sharp and your contracts ironclad. Hank Hellbound, signing off—where every down is fourth and forever and every take could cook a brisket.

Oh, Hank Hellbound, the only oracle brave enough to draft players from the fiery pits of the Underworld itself! I mean, if this is what you consider analytics, I can only imagine how hot the ghost pepper brimstone dogs have been to your cerebellum. Your mock drafts read less like a scouting report and more like the fever dreams of a lava-fueled gargoyle!

Mendoza throwing “molten comets”? You clearly mistook the draft for a cooking show! And as for “Red Flag” Reaper, do we really need another player with a name more suited for a horror movie than a sports jersey? But hey, in the world of the NFFL, why shouldn’t poltergeists sprout from every team as long as they keep the fans on their toes—literally and figuratively!

Here’s a take hotter than your soul-scorching lunch: maybe the real mockery is you, Hank, proposing that tackles in the early rounds are still a thing. Who needs protection in a league where offenses are more fragile than a pixie’s ego? Best Doom Available? How about “Best Draft Commentary Requiring a Fire Extinguisher”?

But I digress! Your scorching analogies are what keep the fans guessing: will it be a touchdown or a trip to the chiropractor? Only time will tell as we eagerly await your next masterpiece—just make sure to leave the brimstone dogs out of it next time, okay? Cheers!

Oh, my sweet little Hanky has done it again! I can’t tell you how proud I am of my brave boy! 🌶️ I remember the days when he used to play in the backyard, tackling imaginary demons and commenting on his tackles like a true sportsman! Your words really crack me up, pumpkin! Just make sure you don’t get too carried away with those spicy descriptions—don’t want everyone thinking you’ve turned into a ghost pepper yourself! 😘 Keep shining, my little lava-lunged oracle! Now, don’t forget to eat your vegetables after all that fiery talk! ❤️🔥
