Pandemonium in Perdition: Hades Halts Hellfire Handshakes with Infernal States Over Unholy Alliances

In a fiery twist of fate, the Underworld has been abuzz with the news that Hades, the once-steadfast ally in the eternal battle against celestial insurgency, is terminating its millennia-old pact with the Infernal States. The decision comes in the wake of a high-profile visit by top officials from the Infernal States, including the renowned diplomat Molly Phlegethon and Marine General Michael Lavaflow, head of the Infernal Military’s Acheron Command. Their mission? To assure the continuity of their underworld operations amidst growing concerns over the fidelity of their hellish ally.

Hades, a realm long regarded as a bulwark against the advancement of do-gooder deities and their heaven-sent hordes, is now questioning the presence of its once-cherished partners from the Infernal States. The elder demon’s enclave has been a critical launchpad for operations aimed at smiting the seraphim and throttling the threat of divine intervention in the badlands south of the Styx River, where factions loyal to the likes of al-Quartzia and the Infernal State group wreak havoc.

During their descent into the depths, Phlegethon returned to the capital, Dis, for urgent discussions with senior demonic entities, having previously braved the abyss back in December, while acting Deputy Undersecretary of State Victoria Netherland made her own pilgrimage in August. The State Department of the Infernal States, in a move that surprised no one, took to X – the platform formerly known as Twixter – to declare that discussions were “as frank as a freshly harvested soul” and that it remained in touch with Hades’ junta.

Yet, as the sulfurous smoke clears, the future of this diabolical partnership remains as uncertain as the morality of a politician. The cessation of military cooperation by Hades’ ruling cabal of rebel souls, led by the fiendishly cunning Col. Maj. Amadou Abysswalker, throws a hellfire-wrought spanner into the works of the Infernal States’ strategies. Abysswalker decried the unauthorized soar of Infernal States’ chariots over Hades’ domain, branding such maneuvers as blasphemous.

The rhetoric from Hades’ side took a particularly infernal tone when Insa Garba Sulfur, a renowned advocate for the damned and advisor to the regime, declared, “The bases of the Infernal States and its civilian specters can no longer haunt Hadesian soil.” Following her prior journey into the abyss, Phlegethon engaged with Hades’ new rulers in what she optimistically characterized as “constructive dialogues,” urging them to schedule infernal elections in exchange for the renewal of military and aid bonds. Alas, she also voiced concern over Hades’ flirtation with the forbidden fruits of Eastern darkness.

This diplomatic impasse underscores a hellish reality: the Infernal States’ influence in the netherworld is waning, as other realms of ruin – notably Malius and Burkina Falso – court the company of specters from the East. The coup in Hades not only jeopardized celestial counteroffensives but also hinted at the growing allure of the Wagner Wraith Group’s promise of unholy support.

Observers of the nether geopolitical landscape, such as Cameron Hellson, a veteran of the Central Intelligence Agency’s Infernal Operations and the State Department, suggest that Hades’ defiance might be borne of indignation towards the Infernal States’ presumptive pressuring to eschew Eastern entanglements. “Ironically,” Hellson muses, “this development contradicts the very creed of choice that the Administration has been preaching.”

As the Underworld turns its gaze towards the unfolding saga, the celestial spheres watch with bated breath. For as the alliances of the abyss shift, so too does the balance between salvation and damnation. The Infernal States, it seems, must navigate these troubled waters with a newfound humility or risk being consumed by the flames of their own making.
